Local knowledge
Gladesville Homes and What They Need from an Electrician
Most of what we open here was wired for a 1930s house, not a 2026 one.
The bulk of the stock is single-storey Federation and inter-war face-brick cottages off the 1910s-1930s subdivisions. Older Victorian and Georgian estates and heritage homes sit in among them.
Then came the unit and apartment infill along Victoria Road and around the town centre. Three building waves, three different sets of wiring behind the walls: pre-1940, the 1940s to 1960s, and the 1980s to 2000s.
Ceramic fuses are the giveaway. Many of those original Federation and inter-war homes still carry ceramic-fuse switchboards, and rewirable fuses no longer meet modern load or safety needs.
Where that board is still sitting in a cottage off Cowell Street, a switchboard upgrade is what fixes it.
Then there is the masonry. Double brick and render leave you very few cable routes, so a rewire in a solid-walled cottage gets planned around what can be fished and what has to be surface-run in conduit.
That planning is the reason we quote after walking the house, never off a description over the phone.
Why Gladesville Keeps Choosing Us
The housing here is mostly owner-occupied, and mostly family homes.
People are not shopping for a one-off visit. They want the sparkie they will still be ringing when the kids have moved out, on a board someone already knows.
"Quick, professional, and every request I made was just dealt with." Daichi, via Google.
We Answer, and We Turn Up
A real person answers the phone, gets the detail out of you that actually matters, and will book you in for a time that suits. We turn up when we say, and if we are ever running late, you hear it from us before the window closes.
Backed for Life, Not for Thirty Days
Every job carries our lifetime workmanship guarantee, and we email you the certificate for it the day we finish. A 12-month product warranty sits over the top of whatever the manufacturer already gives you.
The First Job Costs You Less
New customers take $50 off, and the quote beforehand costs nothing. We do not charge by the hour, so a job that runs long runs long on our time, not on your invoice.
The Reviews Are the Reference Check
We have 600+ five-star reviews from Sydney homeowners, which is about as close as you get to asking a neighbour who they used. Read a handful before you ring anyone.
How we work
Our Process Keeps You in the Loop
Four steps. No surprises in any of them.
You ring, an electrician looks, the price goes in writing, then the work happens and the paperwork lands with you.
- 01
1. Tell Us What It Is Doing
Ring (02) 9134 9026 and describe what it is doing, in whatever words you have. We ask enough to narrow it down, then book you in for a time that suits.
- 02
2. We Look, Then We Price It
An electrician gets on site and works out what is really causing it, not just what is showing, then hands you a fixed written price before we start. The quote is free, and so is the visit that produces it.
- 03
3. Work Done, Place Left Tidy
Once you say go, that price holds. Drop sheets down and the place left tidy, premium gear in, and nothing gets touched that was not on the quote you accepted.
- 04
4. Tested, Certified, Handed Over
Everything is tested before we sign off. On notifiable electrical work you get a certificate of compliance for electrical work, lodged with NSW Fair Trading, and photographs of what we did.
An Electrical Emergency in Gladesville? Act Fast
Some of this will not keep until Monday.
- Sparks, arcing or a buzz you can hear from the board
- A hot or fishy smell coming off a socket
- Scorch marks around a plate, or a plate warm to the touch
- A safety switch that trips straight back out when you reset it
- Your place dark while the rest of the street has power
- A cable pulled down, exposed or damaged after work in the yard
If the whole street is dark, the outage sits on Ausgrid's side of the meter and they are the ones to ring. Everything from your switchboard in is ours.
Turn it off at the switchboard where you can do that safely, then ring (02) 9134 9026. Genuine emergencies get us out around the clock, and a licensed electrician stays on the line with you until a van pulls up.
Call our emergency electrician line at any hour.
Safe and Compliant on Every Job
Compliance is not paperwork for its own sake. It is the difference between a job that stands up to an insurance claim and one that quietly does not.
Four things we will not cut a corner on.
Licensed in NSW, and You Can Check It
Licence #452529C is a NSW electrical contractor licence, and you can verify it with NSW Fair Trading yourself before you book us. DIY electrical work is illegal in NSW, and the reasons are the ones you would expect.
Wired to AS/NZS 3000
Everything we install goes back in to the AS/NZS 3000 wiring rules. That is the national standard, and it is where a safety switch on every circuit and proper labelling actually come from.
A Master Electricians Member
We are a Master Electricians Australia member. Ask any sparkie for their accreditation before you book, and if they hesitate on the phone, that is your answer.
Fully Insured, Which You Hope Never Matters
We are fully insured. It is the boring credential nobody asks about, right up until the day it does, and the one you cannot retrofit after something has gone wrong.

Common questions
Your Electrical Questions, Answered
Six that come up before a booking. Anything else, ring (02) 9134 9026 and put it to a licensed electrician rather than to the internet.
Is my old switchboard dangerous?
Not automatically, but a fuse only ever protected the wiring, never the person holding the kettle, so a ceramic-fuse board leaves everyone in the house without shock protection. Plenty of the pre-1940 cottages still run one.
How much does an electrician cost in Gladesville?
There is no set price until we have seen it, so we come out, look, and give you a free written quote. We do not charge by the hour, and the price is agreed before any work starts.
Do I get a Certificate of Compliance after the work?
Yes, on notifiable electrical work. You get a certificate of compliance for electrical work, lodged with NSW Fair Trading, and your copy lands with a written compliance report.
How quickly can an electrician arrive in Gladesville?
Often same or next day for a normal booking, and quicker when it is genuinely urgent. Our regular run already takes in Ryde, Putney and Meadowbank, so the drive is short.
Can you install an EV charger at home?
Yes, and the first check is always whether your switchboard can feed a dedicated circuit for it, because that decides half the job. See our EV charger installation page for what is involved.
How does your pricing work?
A written price before we start, and the price we quote is the price you pay, even if the job runs longer than we thought. Uncover something genuinely unforeseen and we stop, explain it, and re-quote before going any further.
